Hurricane Insurance Coverage Rates Melbourne Florida

The official start to the 2010 Atlantic hurricane season is just a week away.

It's wind vs. water in many a hurricane insurance claim, so be sure you know the difference - and obtain both hurricane and flood insurance when protecting your home.

To the surprise of many home owners, your homeowners insurance typically does not cover flooding after a hurricane, unless it is caused by the roof of your home blowing off.

In a state with as high a risk of hurricanes and tropical storms as Florida, it is essential that you realize the limitations of typical homeowners insurance, and don't find out too late that homeowners insurance is not enough to protect your investment from hurricane damage. Flood insurance is inexpensive, yet could end up saving you tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars and give you peace of mind in the aftermath of a hurricane or tropical storm.

Call Insurance Center of Central Florida TODAY and let us go over a new policy or your existing policy. Get on your way to great coverage and protection. Don't wait till it's too late!

  5. We're moving to a new state in a few months and I've been trying to figure out what kind of insurance to get for the new house. Since you live in Florida, it's a good idea to have hurricane insurance. Should an insurance agent know the weather in an area and be able to recommend that kind of disaster insurance we should get to accompany our homeowner's insurance?

  7. I didn't realize that homeowner's insurance could be more or less expensive based on which state I was living in. Do you know what the least expensive states are? We're considering moving, and that might be a factor.

  8. We won't be dealing with the wind vs. water claims nearly as much anymore. My family and I are moving way inland to Colorado for my husbands job. We were surprised to see how different the policies are from state/region to state/region. Glad we don't have the hurricanes anymore, but I am sure mother nature has something in store for us here. We will have to make sure we get the right coverage. http://www.collinginsurance.com/home-insurance.aspx

  9. It's things like that that you really need to look at before getting homeowners insurance. There are things that are common that you might not be covered for. Shop around and take time to consider what you might need.

  13. The environment is definitely important to take into consideration when finding homeowner insurance. My friend recently moved to an area pretty close to the cost. Like you explained, hurricanes are a pretty big issue where he is. He needs to find a good homeowner insurance group that'll keep his house covered. You never know what just might happen. Hopefully he picks a good one. Thanks for the post! http://www.bellinsuranceinc.com/go/home/

  15. Is there any location in Florida that mandates hurricane insurance? It seems like it would be a smart move if you owned a house anywhere near that risk. I'm planning on moving to Florida within the next year, and I want to know what kind of home insurance to get. | http://agents.allstate.com

  17. I agree that it is important to look at hurricane coverage when you live in the South East part of the United States. Some insurance companies don't automatically cover hurricanes, and you want to make sure you are prepared for natural disasters. I know that I would much rather pay a little more for the coverage so that I could have that peace of mind. http://hma4ins.com/personal-home/

  18. I have been thinking about changing my policy up a little bit. I didn't know people in Florida had to pay so much for protection against some storms. I live in an area prone to earthquakes. I should probably see what kind of things my company is willing to cover. http://www.macdowellins.com/html/products/

  19. I didn't realize that homeowner's insurance didn't cover damages caused by floods. However, that has never been a concern for me because I live in a dry state. My sister recently moved to Florida though. i wonder if she has flood insurance. I'll have to bring that up next time I talk to her. http://strachota.com/personal-insurance-lines/temecula-home-owners-insurance/

  23. I had heard that this was a big deal during hurricanes. Some people thought they would be covered be their wind insurance when the hurricane insurance was the one to cover the. That is why is is so critical to read the contracts. Make sure that what you want is being covered. http://www.macdowellins.com/html/products/
